7 Steps to a Successful Corporate Event
If you want to pull off that perfect corporate event, then you want something that is equal parts business and fun. You can remind your guests that the function is for work and filled with their coworkers, but you have to take their mind off the things about work that they might not enjoy. For that to happen, here are some guidelines to help you along.
The Right Venue- If the space you have chosen is too small for all the people you have invited, it won’t make for a pleasant event. Scout the venue ahead of time; don’t just look at pictures of it online. You don’t want to encounter any surprises the day of your event and be unable to make corrections.
Find Activities Suitable for the Venue- Once you’ve chosen the venue, have some activities prepared for the event. Whether they are speeches, games or social activities, you need to have something for your guest to do or enjoy. And these activities need to be appropriate for the venue you have chosen.
Arrange Catering- If you are hosting the event then you are likely unable to provide food and drinks as well. If your guest list is more than just a few people, then consider going all in for some professional catering.
Watch Your Budget- You may have grand plans for your event, but if you haven’t planned it all out carefully, you could end up with more than you can pay for. Look at each of your expenses individually and confirm them before you set anything in stone.
Fill the Lulls- You may have some great activities planned, but if you don’t have anything to fill in the spaces between them, then you will be left with restless guests who feel awkward. Have a guest host fill in for you during these times or have music prepared to cover transitions. And don’t forget to plan for the unexpected. If one thing goes wrong, it should not ruin the entire event.
Make it Unforgettable- If you want your event to be the one that everyone remembers, then you need to give your guests something to remember it by. You can hire a photo booth rental from Treasured Mems to allow your guests to take their own pictures. You’ll get a copy of the photos too, which can be used to promote future company events.
Keep the Mood Light- There may be some business that needs to be discussed at the event, but it doesn’t all have to be serious remember to give your guests something they will enjoy, and perhaps present the business items in an interesting or engaging way. You may even want to consider breaking up the business part of the event into smaller bits, giving your guests a diversion from the important stuff with some fun activity.
